This news article gave recommendations from Valentine to help refrain from allowing stress from work to interfere with your home life. A recommendation she told Global News is to put aside your work phone before bed, if its possible, and to make time for you and your partner/family while trying to prevent factors from work to interfere.

It was also stated that it is also important for employers to help reduce the stress gained from the workplace. Offices that have a better work-life balance can create more productivity as well as the satisfaction of its employees. In doing so, employees will feel much happier with their work and personal life which could result in fewer sick days and less conflict in the workplace as stress retained from work leads to these negative outcomes. Jessica O’Reilly then ended the interview by explaining that arriving first at work and leaving the latest does not mean you will do a good job but will only lead to increase levels of stress.

It is not a surprise that we get stressed from work but allowing it to interfere with your relationship with others is something I would like to avoid in the future. Having an office job, which is the career I most likely will have, can be stressful and requires a lot of time and effort which can lead to stress. Ensuring that issues from work at not brought back home is something I will aim for.
